Ottawa saxophonist Vince Rimbach has put together The Jazz CO-OP, a group of Ottawa’s best jazz musicians. All composers and leaders themselves, the musicians have pooled their talents, each bringing his unique compositions and experiences to form this original jazz collaboration. The members of The Jazz CO-OP have numerous distinctions.
Vince Rimbach shares hosting duties on Swing is in the Air, a weekly jazz radio show on CKCU 93.1 FM. In 2001, he released a CD entitled Just More Thing To Say which received highly favourable reviews.
Peter Hum strives to make music that uplifts listeners with forthright lyricism, strong evocations of moods, and energetic, unfettered improvising. He released his first CD entitled A Boy’s Journey in November of 2010 and will be launching a new CD in September.
Garry Elliot is an Ottawa guitarist specializing in classical and jazz guitar and performance instruction. He has performed at various festivals and has recorded for the CBC on numerous occasions. He recently released Pre-dawn Skies, a CD of original compositions with pianist Steve Boudreau.
Alex Bilodeau has become popular on the Ottawa jazz scene over the past few years. He currently looks after the Monday night jazz at Le Petit Chicago. He has also appeared at the Ottawa Jazz Festival and many other venues around Ottawa, playing with some of the best musicians in town.
Mike Essoudry is an active musician in the Ottawa region lending his talents to many projects in a variety of musical genres around the Ottawa region. He released his CD Passages a few years ago and now leads and composes for his newest band, The Mike Essoudry Sextet.
