Merrickville’s Jazz Fest (MJF) will present its 10th Anniversary Season from Thursday, October 15th through Sunday, October 18th 2020. Performances take place in a variety of large and small venues in Merrickville’s downtown area including local pubs, restaurants, churches, the Baldachin Ballroom and other locations. Although our operating budget is much smaller than those of larger, well-established festivals, we are proud to offer the most interesting programming possible and count on the support and collaboration of our generous sponsors, faithful audiences and fabulous artists as well as our wonderful team of volunteers to make it work.
The application period is now closed. The application forms and support material are carefully reviewed by a Selection Committee (which includes some new members each year) and artists are chosen based on a variety of criteria with an aim to present the highest quality and most interesting balance of programming to the MJF audience.
PLEASE NOTE:
- Applications from touring artists outside of Canada will not be accepted unless your tour will be in our area within the dates of the festival.
- With some exceptions, artists are responsible for providing their own PA systems, amplifiers and related equipment, instruments, music and microphone stands and related supplies and materials for performances. After 9 years of presenting the festival, this has proven to be the most successful and manageable arrangement.
- ALL FIELDS on the application form must be completed in order to be considered by the selection committee. TWO AUDIO SAMPLES are required in MP3 FORMAT ONLY. These may be forwarded via email or supplied via a Shared Dropbox or shared Google Drive link.
- The application process for MJF 2020 opened on December 9, 2019 and closed at 12:00 noon on April 21, 2020. We will contact successful applicants only around the end of June.
