Swing Bridge

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAJoin us for our Grand Opening event in appreciation of our Sponsors and Advance Ticket/Pass Holders on Thursday, 16 October at 7:30 pm at The Baldachin Inn Restaurant. All are welcome upon presentation or purchase of a single $15 ticket for any event or a Day Pass or Festival Pass. Entertaining guests at the grand opening is Merrickville’s own Swing Bridge.

The name “Swing Bridge” refers not only to the music this band plays but to its place of origin, Merrickville, where a swing bridge still operates on the Rideau Canal during the summer months. Although these gentlemen still focus on the swing music of the 40’s they keep adding to their repertoire and now play Dixieland as well as other types of music. They are looking forward to treating jazz lovers to an evening of music enjoyment in Merrickville.

The group formed in 1999 and membership is currently comprised of:

Dave Paton – Leader, piano and clarinet

Bert Milward – trumpet, trombone

Gerry Templeton  tenor and alto sax

Larry Wilson – bass and harmonica

George Buys  drums

Mike Kinloch – guitar and tenor banjo
