Pianist/vocalist Peter Brown has been an active member of the area’s music scene for many year. For the past three years, his quartet of Ottawa’s most established jazz players has been playing to a packed house of enthusiastic fans at Carleton Place’s Ballygiblin’s Restaurant on the first Thursday of every month. The group is led by popular jazz and blues pianist/singer Peter Brown. Peter has toured with Canadian blues legend Dutch Mason, American blues artist Sherman Robertson and with former Rolling Stones guitarist Mick Taylor, and was the keyboardist for Mumbo Jumbo Voodoo Combo for seventeen years. He led his own jazz trio with which he performed at the TD Ottawa Jazz Festival nine years running. In July 2014, the group released Beautiful Love, a CD of standards and jazz favourites. Glenn Robb – Drummer Glenn Robb is a veteran of the Ottawa jazz community who has played with such jazz greats as Benny Goodman, Mel Tormé, Tal Farlow, Peter Appleyard, Junior Mance and Brian Browne to name a few.
Don Paterson – Trumpeter/singer Don Paterson is among Ottawa’s finest jazz trumpet soloists and one of the most sought-after horn players in the area. He has played in a variety of groups including the Impressions In Jazz Orchestra and the Ragtime Brass Quintet as part of the National Arts Centre’s music in the schools program. Recently he has been a member of the Mark Ferguson Big Band touring with Holly Larocque, and a member of the Canadian Government Show Tour in Afghanistan. He has been a full time member of Los Gringos for the past ten years.
Dave Arthur – Bassist Dave Arthur has been an Ottawa-based trombonist, bassist, vocalist, composer and arranger for 40+ years. His career has taken him all over the world including extensive Canadian touring.
