45north is a dynamic Ottawa based six-piece band composed of trumpet, saxophone, piano, guitar, bass, and drums. Because they’re based in Ottawa and since Ottawa city hall lies at Latitude 45.42N and Longitude 75.69Wl they decided to use 45north as their band name.

The musicians of 45north have been playing in various bands for many years, mostly in the jazz genre but in many other styles/genres as well. 45north performs a large selection of music by Canadian artists, including the Powder Blues Band, Joni Mitchell, Lighthouse, Jeff Heale, Manteca, the Guess Who, Oscar Peterson, David Braid, Daniel Lanois and Snaggle. In Merrickville, they will play an all Canadian jazz repertoire.
