For the final concert in our festival we are pleased to present the Rémi Bolduc Jazz Ensemble on Saturday October 18, 2020 at 7:30 PM direct from GigSpace in Ottawa.
A versatile and dynamic artist based in Montreal, Rémi Bolduc performs regularly with some of our most renowned jazz musicians such as Kenny Werner, Ben Monder, Seamus Blake, Lorraine Desmarais, Vic Vogel, Thom Gossage, Ralph Bowen, Jerry Bergonzi and others. He is Associate Professor in the jazz department at McGill University in Montreal. This will be Rémi’s first appearance at MJF and we are thrilled to welcome him.

The inexhaustible Rémi Bolduc is always creating new projects. Since his arrival in Montreal in 1982, where he plays and teaches saxophone and improvisation, he started playing with the best jazz musicians in town. In January 2013 he won an “OPUS Prize ” for best jazz concert of the year. Rémi studied with Vince Mendoza (composition and arrangement), Steve Coleman and lately has collaborated with Ari Hoenig and Dan Weiss. He recently played with the great bassist Dave Young, the French pianist Baptiste Trotignon and saxophonists PJ Perry and Phil Dwyer. Over the years, he has performed all around the world. Acclaimed at the most important venues from New York to Paris by way of Geneva, Tokyo and Beijing, Rémi captivates the audience with the dazzling virtuosity and stunning maturity that have made him a most accomplished musician. He has toured Canada extensively from Prince Edward Island to British Columbia performing his various programs.
