With their accomplished musicianship and wide dynamic range, Zing brings a fresh and fun take on contemporary jazz-funk. Zing draws inspiration from the complex compositions of Chuck Loeb, Marcus Miller, Fourplay and more.
Hailing from the Peterborough and Toronto areas, the band has been performing throughout southern Ontario for the past five years.
The members united with the aim of keeping alive this electric jazz fusion sound that emphasizes challenging arrangements. Zing is,
John Ebata, keyboards (Juno nominee, Black Music Award, Buffy Saint Marie)
Patrick McPhail, basses (Windsor Symphony Orchestra)
Robert Moore, guitars (Berklee College, York University)
David Inglis, drums (Peterborough Symphony Orchestra)
Zing’s precision on stage is dazzling to say the least. Diversity of tone is also key to the Zing Flavour. Whether it be funky rhythms, beautiful ballads or lush Latin tones, Zing has something for everyone.
Above all, Zing aims to connect with the audience and give listeners an uplifting and enjoyable experience. The melodies are memorable, the grooves are relentless and the energy is infectious.
A Zing show is not to be missed!
