Sixteen year-old Brockville pianist Matthew O’Halloran has been playing since he was 5 years old and takes lessons in classical piano, jazz piano, and church organ. He is influenced by the music of Oscar Peterson, Miles Davis and Stevie Wonder.
Matthew is thrilled to be joined onstage once again by three exceptional musicians: Bryne Carruthers, who uses his extensive knowledge from his master’s degree in musicology to construct captivating solos; Evan Veenstra, an electrifying bassist with a degree from the prestigious Berklee College of Music who provides funky and inventive bass lines; and James MacKenzie, a highly sought-after drummer who keeps the group together with his unwavering sense of time.
Their set will include a variety of jazz standards, as well as some of Matthew’s original compositions.
