Originally from a small village in France and raised in Connecticut, Laura Anglade grew up in a musical family, (her father being a gypsy guitar player and mother a classical pianist).

Influenced by jazz from at an early age, some of her idols include Carmen McRae, Sarah Vaughan, Peggy Lee, Anita Day, Chet Baker and Blossom Dearie. Now, at 22, she is pursuing her passion and making waves on the Montreal jazz scene with recent performances at the Montreal Jazz Festival, the Zone Musiques Project and regular appearances at Montreal jazz bars. Future plans include touring further afield and recording.

Laura Anglade has been described as an “amazing talent. Halfway between Julie London, Helen Merrill and Cyrille Aimée, Laura’s pure melodic lines naturally drive her to interpret classic jazz standards with such sensitivity.” (Benjamin Goron, SortieJazzNights.com.)
